WELCOME TO IT FACTOR DANCE ACADEMY FAMILY
DISCOVER THE ART OF DANCE

THE HEART BEHIND IT FACTOR
KELLYE JOHNSON, OWNER, ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, AND DIRECTOR OF THE COLLECTIVE
Kellye Johnson is the founder and heart behind It Factor Dance Academy, a place where passion, artistry, and excellence come together. Her journey with dance began at the incredibly young age of 2 years old, and has been teaching for 8 years, and from the very beginning, it was clear that dance was not just something she did — it was part of who she was.
Over the years, Kellye trained across a wide range of genres including jazz, drill, contemporary, ballet, modern, hip hop, and more, allowing her to develop a deep and versatile understanding of movement and expression. She is currently earning her degree in Kinesiology and Education with a minor in Dance, blending her love for the body, learning, and the art of dance. Her training continued at TJC’s Dance Department, Southern Belle Drill team, through numerous dance conventions, and even in professional classes taken in New York City, where she drew inspiration from some of the dance world's most vibrant artists.
In 2025, Kellye brought her lifelong dream to life by opening It Factor Dance Academy. Her vision was to create more than a studio — she wanted to build a space where dancers could discover not just their technique, but their artistry, discipline, and leadership, and most importantly, learn to set the standard for themselves and others.
Kellye’s teaching philosophy is grounded in her belief that dance is a vehicle for growth, confidence, and community. Her greatest joy comes from seeing her students evolve — not only as dancers but as empowered individuals who carry their strength beyond the studio walls.
At It Factor Dance Academy, every dancer becomes part of a family that moves with purpose, supports one another, and leads with excellence. Under Kellye’s direction, the studio continues to inspire the next generation of artists and leaders — one step at a time.

Brittany has been dancing since she could walk on her own two feet. After 15 years of competitive dancing, she has spent the last few running and choreographing for various performance teams herself. With a love and passion for technique, discipline, and strength within movement, her core goal is to guide dancers to their full potential. Brittany values hard work, team connection, and providing a safe, comforting space for all dancers.

Passionate about nurturing talent and fostering a love for ballet, Savannah is dedicated to helping each student reach their full potential.

Erin was raised in Tyler and grew up dancing at The Dance Gallery and was a member of the Southern Belle drill team. She has past experience teaching dance, choreography, and aerobics as well as running numerous recitals. She is a Certified Real Estate Appraiser for over 18 years and will be managing our Office. Amara Durbrow attended Legacy high school where she joined southern belles, which taught her a lot about commitment, leadership, responsibility, and resilience. She then joined her home studio to dance competitively for 3 years. At her studio she trained in multiple different styles including jazz, contemporary, ballet, and lyrical. Starting competition dance led to her love for improv and choreographing, so she began to assist teachers while choreographing routines. After a year of dancing with her studio she began to assist classes and help teaching, then soon became the gymnastics teacher, which led to her passion for sharing her love and knowledge of dance. Amara is so excited to be a part of this team and to continue to spread her love, encouragement, and positivity while teaching this year! I can’t wait to see what this studio and team has in store for them!

"When selecting a studio for your child to dance at, you're making an investment—an investment in your child's future. Dance is fun, yes, but it also teaches valuable life lessons like teamwork, dedication, drive, pride, artistry, and so much more. What sets It Factor apart, especially with Miss Kellye, is that you get someone who truly wants the same things for your child as you do. Kellye loves the kids the way you want them to be loved, all while holding the high expectations that help them grow. She goes above and beyond for every child in her program, just as she has for mine. Kellye and It Factor are quickly becoming the next big thing in the greater Tyler area dance scene—don’t miss out, join us soon!"
